I beat a tired old drum, but I hate 0.0 alliances. Really. I do. I'm 4 for 4 now to boot.
Alliance #1: Blues blew up the only battleship in our corp at the time (flown by me), I wanted a pittance of 40 mil to cover the gap of insurance and mods, instead they just swept it under the carpet, didn't want to know it happened.
Alliance #2: I was the high-sec based recruiter for our corp and as-such, a director. Edict came out from alliance that all directors *must* be in 0.0 for ops etc. I explained what I did for the corp, but that "wasn't an excuse" and threatened to get the CEO (one of my mates) to boot me/make me go or they'd kick the corp out of the alliance. I said F that and left.
Alliance #3: Demanded max turnouts for POS ops at hours I simply couldn't do due to timezones (3am on a work day!). Same same, threats to get the CEO to kick out non-attenders or they kick the corp. Bye to that too.
Alliance #4: Joined up, came on and next day alliance chat was full of one of the executors saying "Come on all you c**ts, get the f**k to system XYZ now! You f**king useless of c**ts...". Sorry, I don't play games online in order to surround myself with that rubbish.
I'd like to think I just got bad eggs, but 4/4 in wildly different powerblocs is pretty telling for me.
To get myself away from that, I even offered to pay alliances 200 mil a month to have me in and just do my thing in a system, amidst a rabble of "security risk this, gotta pull your weight/attend ops that", I pulled the plug on that idea,, and now I do exactly what I wanted to do anyway, in hostile 0.0, and take awfully great pleasure in watching the locals try to chase me down unsuccessfully with bubbles, camps etc, trying to threaten a bounty out of me, while still sitting round, doing my thing and not getting caught.
Sometimes I feel sorry for those stuck under the thumb of their leaders because they just don't know any better, and yet they never see the rewards of it from those leaders, only the sort of stuff I put above.
PS: Yeah, I'm being pretty general in that above statement, watch now as the few good exceptions and the devoted naysayers tell you otherwise. After all, we'd hate to see the illusion shattered now.
